Obituary

Tyler Coy Woodard, 38, was born May 13, 1984, in Farmington, NM to Robyn Woodard and Bill Woodard.

Tyler lived in Farmington most of his life. He excelled in sports, music, loved snowboarding and the great outdoors. He graduated from Farmington High School in 2002. During his high school years, he played football, sang in the choir, and traveled to sing in Carnegie Hall, mastered drums in symphonic and marching band, wrestled the best players in the state. He became a 2-time state wrestling champion, was recognized on the New Mexico Dream Team and went on to nationals. After graduation, Tyler attended Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Arizona on a football scholarship. He served his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Australia. He went on to Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. He then moved closer to home and attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where he studied chemistry. This is where he met Brittany Hebert and had a beautiful daughter, Aspen Woodard in July 2013. He achieved awards in bartending and mixology for the state of New Mexico several times. He lived in Albuquerque for several years, then moved to Durango, Colorado, and then eventually back to Farmington, New Mexico.

Music meant everything to Tyler and he devoted his time to playing acoustic and electric guitar, drums, and keyboard, and was writing and getting ready to record an album with his siblings. He performed anywhere he could and played gigs everywhere he lived. He also loved painting, woodworking, landscaping, and writing poetry.

On February 4, 2023, Tyler passed away and went to the “great gig in the sky”.

Tyler is survived by his mother Robyn Ferre Woodard; father Bill (Joy) Woodard; brother Clint Woodard; sister Megan Woodard; sister Amber (Tom) Swenk; brother Ryan (Ruby) Woodard, brother Stevie (LeAnna) Woodard; Brittney Hebert and daughter Aspen Woodard; and many nieces and nephews and extended family who loved him.

Tyler will be extremely missed, but we will take comfort in knowing he is pain-free and making music with the angels.

Tyler's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute Street, Farmington, New Mexico.
