Virginia E. Fisher, 79, a resident of Farmington, NM, passed away at home November 27th. Her husband and sister were with her. Virginia was born April 26, 1941 in Lindsey, California to parents Charles and Kathleen Alexander.
Virginia was raised in New Mexico, graduated from Farmington High School and attended Texas Tech in Lubbock. She married Cecil Fisher June 1959 at Northside Church of Christ, Farmington, NM. Cecil and Virginia had been married 61 years 5 months.
The couple lived in Farmington most of their married life. Virginia and Cecil own and operate the Town and County M.H. Park in Farmington. In addition to building and operating their own business Virginia also enjoyed attending Church, writing their Prayer Chain and doing social work, raising plants in her green room, raising goldfish in their outdoor pond, reading, sewing, and
selling Amway.
Cecil and Virginia (known as Ginger) first met at the Totah Theater where she was an Usher. She also worked as a Nurse's Aide and helped with the newborns at the Presbyterian Hospital in the 1950's. She and Cecil greatly enjoyed traveling to the mountains, especially the Colorado mountains. Ginger worked for awhile as a Bank Teller at Citizens Bank in Farmington and again
at the First National Bank when they lived in Santa Fe for a few years.
She is preceded in death by her mother Mary Kathleen Alexander, 2 aunts, 2 uncles, 4 grandparents, and several cousins.
Virginia is survived by her husband Cecil Fisher, her father Charles Alexander (102), her sister Wanda Stailey and brother Huel Alexander, 2 uncles EY and Kay (Veronica) Massey, several cousins, and her niece Shari Floyd (and 2 children) and nephew Tom Stailey (and 3 children) and 4 great great nieces and nephews.
Virginia was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 11:00 am at Eastside Church of Christ, 2012 N. Huntzinger Ave., Farmington, NM in their parking lot. Burial will be at Memory Garden between 12:30 - 1 :OOpm. Only 50 cars will be accepted at the Cemetery due to Covid virus restrictions. There will be no food or drink served.
