Scott C. Crawford, age 61, was called home to be with the Lord after a strenuous battle with cancer on Sunday, December 11th, 2022 in Farmington, New Mexico. He was surrounded by his family in his final moments as he passed peacefully at home.

He leaves behind his four children, his son, Marshall S. Crawford of Farmington; his daughter, Shae Lynn Young, his son-in-law, Allen Young, and his granddaughter, Emma Young of Amarillo, TX; his daughter, Taylor Kirkland, his son-in-law, Kyler Kirkland, and his grandsons, Malakai Kirkland, Charles Kirkland, and Maverick Kirkland of Amarillo; his daughter, Katelynn Sue Hernandez, his son-in-law, Cimaron Hernandez, and his grandsons, Brycen Hernandez, Brevin Hernandez, and Bradley Hernandez of Amarillo; as well as his sister, Rebecca Puepke, and his brother-in-law, Lauren Puepke, of Farmington, NM; nephew, Ryan Hatch, of Albuquerque, NM; nieces, Kirsten Lofton of El Paso, TX, Melissa Munoz of San Antonio, TX, and Amanda Culbertson of San Antonio, TX. He also leaves behind many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll E. Crawford and Bonnie J. Crawford; his sister, Diana Keith, his brother-in-law, Bob Keith, and his grandparents Burrell and Dyvena Crawford, of Farmington, NM.

Scott was born on Monday, January 9, 1961, in Farmington, NM. He devoted much of his life to his business, San Juan Measurement Standards Facility.  He had many hobbies; he loved fishing, hiking, skiing, riding his motorcycle, and racing around on his four-wheelers. He played guitar, built engines, raced cars, and loved his children. He could build anything! He specialized in certifying equipment for natural gas and oil field companies for thirty-three years in the great San Juan County. Throughout his life, he made countless friends; he didn’t know a stranger and he loved giving to others!

He attended Bloomfield Schools before moving to El Paso, TX, where he attended Eastwood High School and graduated in 1979.

He was a star athlete and earned the title of Texas State Champion Wrestler 5A. He was also a Star Quarterback for the Eastwood Troopers. He loved baseball as a young boy and was an Allstar Baseball player in Bloomfield, NM.

He attended UTEP in El Paso, TX before moving to Farmington to help manage Vista San Juan Estates. He completed his Associates in Automotive Technology at San Juan College and ran his first business, an automotive repair shop, which later transformed into San Juan Measurement. He completed training at Chandler Engineering in Oklahoma for his specialty in certification.

If you knew Scott, you loved him. He had a special way of making anyone in his presence feel welcome with his warm smile. He always had a funny joke to tell, and he loved making others laugh. The center of his world revolved around his children and his grandchildren. He was a proud father to his four kids and “Poppie” to his seven grandchildren. He will be sorely missed.
