Lester George Hunt

Lester George Hunt, 55, died quietly and unexpectedly in his sleep on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023, in his family home.  He was born in Cortez, Colorado on May 10th, 1968, to Lucille and Raymond Hunt. He was raised in the little town of Waterflow, New Mexico, where he later prospered in farming. He was raised in a large family with several brothers and sisters. Lester did not have the opportunity to pursue a formal education and instead worked on his father's small farm. His work ethic and desire to provide for his family drove him to pursue odd jobs as early as the age of 13. Lester succeeded in all he did and excelled in agriculture. Lester was always donating his time to others and dedicated himself to hard work in his spare time. Lester will always be remembered for his strong voice and fiery spirit that served as strengthen to us all. In his early twenties, he met Jessica Johnson at the family farm, and they instantly fell in love; they were happily married for the next 31 years. They had been lifelong partners, greatest of friends, and they had five children together. Lester proved to be a wonderful and dedicated father. He always put in the extra effort for his family by caring for their every need. Although he has left his children behind, he will always be in their hearts and minds for the rest of their lives.

A father like you is rare, one that is so generous, intelligent, and kind. A father like you is what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter, and always doing good deeds. Nothing can replace a father like you, but when you get to heaven God will be lucky to have you too.

Lester is survived by his wife, Jessica Johnson and his several children, Luc Netherton, Cheyenne Shilling, Shantelle, Macee, Dakota, Jewels, and Grizzly Hunt.

A memorial service for Lester will be held on Saturday July 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Cross Roads Church 2400 N Butler Ave, Farmington NM 87401 for his friends and family to pay their respects. Donations may be made to the GoFundMe page found on Jessica’s Facebook page.
