Kathryn May Morris

April 25, 1928 — August 16, 2021

Kathryn May Crandell Morris was born in Pinedale, Arizona on April 25th 1928. The 2nd of 8 children born to Glen and Ruth Crandell. She grew up in Clay Springs and Heber, Arizona. She graduated from Snowflake High School in 1945 and was a member of the National Honor Society, Glee Club, and played the trombone in the school band. Her Family moved to Aztec, New Mexico in 1945. Her father bought the experimental farm west of Aztec Ruins. They had successful farms while her father managed the sawmill in Durango, Colorado. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She played the piano in junior primary at the age of 11 and continued to play the piano and organ in worship services until she was 86.
She taught school in the Los Martinez area (near Navajo Dam), Bloomfield, and Aztec. In 1948 she met and fell in love with Robert Chase Morris they were married September 8, 1948. The joy of their life together were their 4 boys, Robert Pug, Gary, Tracy, and Kevin and their families. October 24, 1975 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was always active in the community. She drove school bus and was a substitute teacher. In the 80s she actively played the piano in various bands, The Golden Oldies and The Swingin' Seniors, with her friends at the Aztec Senior Center. She worked in the San Juan County Assessor's office and eventually retired from the New Mexico State District Court when her husband became ill.
She was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She lived a life of love and service and will greatly be missed. Love you more!

19 Grandchildren, 45 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints North Oliver Dr. Aztec, New Mexico August 21, 2021 10:00 AM Bishop Lamar Farnsworth officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services. There will also be a viewing Friday August 20, 2021 6:00-8:00 PM at Brewer Lee and Larkin Funeral Home 103 E. Ute Street Farmington, New Mexico.
