June Marie Benally

June Marie Benally, 78, of Farmington, passed away on Wednesday August 26, 2020 surrounded by family, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born to the late Jennie and Tom Augustine, April 18, 1942, in Nageezi, NM. June graduated from Aztec High School, where she met the love of her life Frank, in the 1960s. June earned a bachelor's from Fort Lewis College and a Master's Degree from University of New Mexico in Early Childhood Education.
An educator, a master of arts and crafts, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, June's fortitude for education and altruism stemmed from her mother, a sheep herder and father, a medicine man. June was passionate about educating Diné children across the reservation and enriching students of their Diné heritage. June loved spending time with family, traveling and gambling in casinos as far away as Seattle, NYC and Florida.
June is survived by her four daughters Zelda Glenn and her husband Joe Glenn; her daughter Zenia Fiveash and her husband Raul Fiveash, their daughter Julie Fiveash, their son Kyle Fiveash and his wife Beleace and their daughter Eleanor June, and their son Matthew Fiveash; her daughter Levina Benally and her daughters Reece Benally and Taylor Benally, her children MJ and Xavier; and her daughter Jess Benally. June is also survived by her siblings Julia Chavez, Lorraine Jose, Alice Augustine and Phil Augustine. June was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 2013; parents Jennie and Tom Augustine; her brother James Augustine; her sister Atta Harrison, Atta's son Sean Harrison and Atta's grandson Theron Harrison; and nephew Andre Jose.
