Emily Sena Sandoval

Emily Sena Sandoval, 86, of Farmington, New Mexico passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 3, 2022.

Emily also known by Nina was born, May 27, 1936 in Colonias, NM to Jose F. Sena and Abelina Sena and was raised in Santa Rosa, NM where she graduated from Santa Rosa High School. She married the love of her life Ernest Sandoval also known as Papo in September of 1959 and in 1968 they moved to Farmington, NM where she has resided ever since. Emily worked in the customer service industry for several years. She worked at Eddie Lou’s Retail Store for about 1 year then worked at Leon’s Grocery Store for 7 years, after that she decided to stay home and raise her son Michael.

Emily was a devoted Catholic and an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Farmington. She loved to pray for you and was always willing to pray with you. She always looked forward to her holy hour she was committed to weekly at St. Mary’s Church.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Jose F. Sena,  and Abelina Sena, her husband, Ernest Sandoval. She is survived by her son, Michael Sandoval, sisters, Bertha Sandoval, Lydia Jacquez, brother, Marty Sena and wife Carmen Sena, numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rosary will be Friday, July 29, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 410 N. Allen Ave, Farmington, N.M. 87401. Burial will take place immediately after Mass at Green Lawn Cemetery, 1606 N. Dustin Ave.

The family is requesting in lei of flowers a donation be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School Scholarship in the name of Emily Sandoval. Donations can be made to www.shefarmington.org or https://sacredheartfarmington.weconnect.com.

The family would like to thank everyone for their condolences, prayers, phone calls, cards, flowers and food. NINA WAS LOVED BY ALL AND IS GOING TO BE GREATLY MISSED.
