Betty Elizabeth Sanchez

Born February 5th, 1935
Las Vegas, New Mexico

Died June 6th, 2021
Farmington, New Mexico

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Alleluia! -- 2 Timothy 4:7
Betty Elizabeth Sanchez died peacefully at home on June 6, 2021. At her side were her children. She died from complications related to Parkinson's disease.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Donald A. Sanchez, her father and mother, Hilario and Antonia Vigil, sisters, Beatrice and Mary, brothers Robert, Luis, and Hilario (Hermie) Vigil.
Betty was a cancer survivor and shared her testimony of her miraculous recovery with many individuals during her lifetime. Her second chance at life gave her great purpose in sharing her faith with others. She had a desire that all would come to know Jesus Christ. Her warm personality and unconditional love for everyone she met was a sure sign that she was an instrument in God's work.
Betty was a member of the local Legion of Mary at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She worked with other members to visit, feed, and encourage the sick and marginalized within our community.
Betty's creative gifts found expression in the many wedding and banquet flower arrangements she created for others including family weddings, funerals and other special occasions.
Betty was happiest when she and Don traveled throughout the US, Mexico and Europe. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family.
Betty is survived by her sister Eloisa Bustos and brother Isidro Vigil and a blended family of children, Ginger Lynch (Damon), Joanna Bradfield (Bill), Roberta Lukens (Dave), Edward Sanchez (Teri), Therese Sanchez (Best Friend - Don), Maddie Richardson, Donald Sanchez Jr. (Sally), Teresa Ferguson, Lorraine Castillo (Reggie), Yvette Matamoros (Gabe), and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and godchildren.
She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
