Atocha Maria Fortier

Atocha M. Fortier, age 84, resident of Bloomfield, NM., finished her journey on August 1, 2020. She was born March 12, 1936 in Tierra Amarilla to Jose Adan Trujillo and Lillian Frances Berguin.

Atocha was a pediatric nurse at community hospital in Durango, C.O in her earlier years. Atocha also worked at Eventide nursing home in Durango, C.O.  Hobbies included gardening and crossword puzzles.

Atocha was preceded in death by her daughters, Geneva Davis and Glenda Herrera; her brother, Alerico Trujillo; her sister, Josephine Trujillo; and parents, Jose and Lillian Trujillo.

Atocha was survived by her daughters, Nyla Martin, Jacqueline Oderkirk, Audrene Jones, Anna Meadows, Harriet Gentry and Brenda Wells; brother, Johnny Trujillo; and sisters, Flora Albo, Jane Urban and Carmen Gonzales; with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great -grandchildren.

Rosary will be held at 9:30 am Friday August 7, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bloomfield, NM. Followed by burial services at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bloomfield, NM.
